Happiness Over Everything isn’t meant to be famous or popular or to have a huge social media presence. It’s about helping people and being really and truly impactful.
I know I haven’t posted all week.
The truth is, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and I haven’t been feeling as passionate as I used to. When this happens, it’s best to take a step back and reevaluate things.
Lately, I’ve been trying to prioritize my mental health, the very same thing I’m always encouraging you guys to do.
So with that being said, I’ve decided to take a break and when I return there will be a rebranding of Happiness Over Everything.

Today, I learned…
Today I learned not to stress things I can’t control and that sometimes it’s not a matter of right or wrong but just doing the best you can.
As much as I’d love to be able to be everywhere at once and tackle everything I need to do in a day, I’m only one person and can only do but so much.
Today I learned to catch myself when I feel myself rushing, and to stop living my life according to some imaginary time line.
Today I learned that there are no shortcuts when it comes to addressing issues, complaining and wrecking your brain with false blames and “what ifs” will not help you deal with your problems. The only way to fix them, is to address them head on. (gotta go through it to get through it).
Today I learned that with a clear mind and determination, I can achieve higher quality in a shorter span of time and that cannabis really does me give consistently good sleep.

Hey hey hey!! I hope you guys had a fabulous weekend!
My most recent post on instagram is about a post i’m working on titled “A Helpful Guide To Happiness: 101 ways to be happy”.
Here, my goal is to show the world the many different ways a person can find joy so I can share this guide with the world and inspire others ^_^
In order to do that, I’m asking 100 volunteers to answer the question “what makes you happy?” so that I can include their responses in my guide!

Mental Strength Monday
Meditation is a great way to strengthen the mind!
The good news about meditation is that it can be done anywhere at anytime, all you need is a quiet space.
Before I start my day, the first thing I do is meditate for 10 minutes and it always gives me the mental clarity and strength I need to tackle my busy work week. It also helps significantly when you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or angry.
According to healthline.com, in addition to clearing the mind and sharpening your focus, meditation can also:
- Reduce stress
- Lessen anxiety
- Improve emotional health
- Increase mindfulness
- Sharpen your attention span
- Help improve your memory
- Elevate your mood
- Enhance sleep
- And decrease blood pressure
Instead of reaching for your phone or checking your email, which can amplify anxiety symptoms, try incorporating a quick meditation into your morning routine to better prepare yourself for a busy/stressful day. It may not reduce your workload, but it’ll make dealing with it a whole lot easier.
Meditating on your own is challenging for some, so I recommend a guided meditation for first timers.
Additionally, here are some helpful tips:
- Find a safe space where you can be alone
- Create a relaxing atmosphere with add ons like ambience music, aromatherapy (scented candles, burning oil, incense, etc), or pillows
- Get in a comfortable position (lay down, sit in a cross legged position, or stand with your eyes closed. whatever’s helpful to you)

“Thank A Page” Thursday
This week’s “Thanks” goes out to my go-to kids salon @milkandcookieskidsspa!
Half hair salon, half kids spa Milk and Cookies is located in NYC’s Upper East Side and is my daughter’s absolute favorite place to get her hair done.
We love it here, not just because of the friendly staff, or the wide assortment of styles, accessories, and services they offer (yass Mommy, daughter facials!!),
but especially because, after every service, you get a fresh-baked cookie (choose between sugar or chocolate chip) and a cup of milk (regular, strawberry, or chocolate).
They sure know how to make a kid feel loved.
The IG page is full of happy, smiling children fresh out of the salon chair and displays the diversifying talents of the Milk and Cookies brand that keeps their clients happy and their parents coming back for more.

For this week’s wellness Wednesday, I want to put you on to one of my favorite yoga routines.
As you guys know from my previous post about yoga, I love to practice yoga because it has tremendous benefits for the mind and body.
Usually I practice at home and when I do, I tune in to Abiola Akanni’s channel Yoga By Biola.
She has this routine for knees and hips that I find especially useful–ever since my job doing clerical work, I’ve noticed tightness and soreness in these target areas. I’m sure it was because of my lack of mobility.
This routine has a trifecta effect; using grounding poses, Abiola helps you with your strength, flexibility, and balance in the knees, hips, and hamstrings.

Today, I learned…
Today I learned to how strong my mind is by its ability to stay focused and disciplined through all kinds of distractions.
I learned how much better I perform when I take myself seriously and that with uninterrupted time and space, I can achieve anything.
Today I learned that if you build it, they will come, and when you combine consistency with talent, it will naturally attract people.
Keep on keeping on.

The start of my favorite month of the year comes with some pretty exciting updates. On Happiness Over Everything, November 1st means…
- a new theme for blog posts! (woop woop)
- Holiday season has officially begun!
- my birthday is coming (Scorpio nation)
The theme for the month will be DIY: Creating Your Own Happiness. Simple and creative ways to inspire peace and wellness in the existing world around you–something i’m sure will come in handy during the stress of Holiday season lol
Besides, life’s too short to be anything but happy.
We don’t need to wait for a specific time or a reason why, we can be happy NOW just the way we are.

Mental Strength Monday
Challenging yourself to do something that makes you uncomfortable is a great way to improve your mental strength and nothing is more uncomfortable than taking a cold shower.
I recently discovered that taking a cold shower is a great way to build up your mental toughness thanks to an article I read on fatherly.com.
It turns out taking a cold shower comes with a few perks, including:
- A stronger immune and nervous system
- Improved blood circulation
- Physical and mental resilience training
- A surge of endorphins and energy
I recommend easing into it– try starting off with one limb at a time, holding each body part under the cold water for a limited time until you garner enough mental strength to do your entire body (i started with 10 seconds).
